Its the first reading party of 2016. As you know, it takes place in the lobby of the Sorrento Hotel, seen here under construction in 1909.

It's the first Wednesday of the month, which means one thing: The silent-reading party is tonight at 6 pm. Since that article was first published, we've added live musicians to the mix, and for the last year and a half it's been the amazing, exquisite Paul Matthew Moore on piano. He plays from 6 pm to 8 pm, and it's totally free—and all ages—to show up at the silent-reading party and just sit there staring into the middle distance listening to Paul play.

All the when/where details about the silent-reading party are here. KPLU once did a radio segment about the reading party that you can listen to here.

Programming note: I won't be at tonight's reading party because I will be out of town, so please remember to tip your pianist! And get there on the early side, before 6 pm, if you want a good seat.
