Garfunkel and Oates, aka Riki Lindholme and Kate Micucci, are back in Seattle. The songwriting comedy duo perform two shows tonight at the Neptune. Both performances are being filmed for their upcoming comedy special. Garfunkel and Oates' new album—Secretions—debuted at the top of the iTunes comedy charts last week. Garfunkel and Oates ran for one season on IFC, and Lindholme co-created and stars in Another Period on Comedy Central, which has been renewed for a second season on Comedy Central. Despite being impossibly rich, successful, and famous, Garfunkel and Oates agreed to do a quick interview.

Why Seattle?

Seattle was the first place we ever played out of town. We love the city, the people and the whole experience. Seattle has always been a very welcoming place for us. [Full disclosure: My husband brought G&O to town for that first show, they played at Re-bar, they slept in our basement.]

Who should come to the show?

The type of people who would have camped out to see Rent, dressed as Weird Al for Halloween, or love dick jokes.

Who should not come to the show?

Our parents.

What was more fun to work on: Garfunkel and Oates or Another Period?

Another Period.

Do you play colleges? Do you agree with Chris Rock—are students today humorless, PC, quick-to-take-offense scolds?

We play colleges but not as much as we play comedy clubs or theaters. I'm not sure if it's because the students are too PC, but they definitely don't laugh as much. It may be because we write from our experiences and we are at least 15 years older than them. Or Chris Rock might be right.

You’ve written songs about giving handjobs ("I Don’t Understand Job"), giving blowjobs ("The BJ Song"), doing anal ("The Loophole"), and eating pussy ("The College Try")—when do we get a song about rimming?

As soon as either of us have a disastrous experience with it. Fingers crossed!

This one’s for Riki: Fuck/Marry/Kill… Anthony Jeselnik, Michael Ian Black, Kate Micucci.

Riki says: Fuck: Michael Ian Black. Marry: Anthony Jeselnik. Kill: Kate Micucci.

This one’s for Kate: Fuck/Marry/Kill… Garret Dillahunt, Kumail Nanjiani, Riki Lindhome.

Kate says: Fuck: Garret Dillahunt. Marry: Kumail Nanjiani. Kill: Riki Lindhome.

When are you guys going to write a musical?

We talk about constantly. But if we do it, we want to make it amazing. We are trying to carve out a big chunk of time to write and hopefully that will happen soon.

Will there be a song about rimming in it?

Again, fingers crossed!
