Don't despair—yet. There are still things to do in this city that fall outside your average dinner and a movie paradigm (although we have plenty of those, too). Grandmothers of Invention
There are few geniuses in the world of music weirder than Frank Zappa, and some of his original band members are playing that idiosyncratic blend of rock, jazz, and blues for two nights at Jazz Alley. (Sept 1-2)
Baby Ketten Karaoke
A karaoke night that aims to fight back against "frat boy margaritaville sing-alongs," with one of the best songbooks in Seattle, according to those in the karaoke know. (Tues Sept 1)
Bubblegum Garbage Party
Gallery 1412 always delivers the strange and wonderful. They will host the San Francisco-based live comedy radio/podcast show from comedians Thomas Bridgman and Daniel Vito Bernahicks. Guests will include both local and SF favorites. (Thurs Sept 3)
Honored Objects
For the sex posi and adventurous, the Foundation for Sex Positive Culture presents this class on how to incorporate objectifying erotic play while still respecting said object. (Fri Sept 4)
