I'm beginning to think the Rentboy.com raid could be to the sex work decriminalization movement what Prop 8 was to the marriage equality movement: a "victory" for opponents of sexual freedom and personal autonomy that winds up backfiring on them spectacularly. And since Rentboy.com is a site that hooked male escorts up with male clients, the conversation about prohibition/decriminalization can't be derailed by the sexist heroic-male-savior/damsel-in-distress narratives beloved by supporters of the current (and harmful) status quo.

And while we're on the subject: everyone should read Vox staff writer German Lopez's recent piece on decriminalizing sex work.
