Based on the ratings for the US Women’s National Team’s World Cup triumph over Japan, which were NBA Finals/peak Seinfeld good, there’s a very good chance you’re excited about women’s soccer right now. The victory parade just wrapped up in New York... the ticker tape is sticking to the garbage-filled streets of lower Manhattan, and you still want more women's soccer. That’s good, because soccer is the best, and the American women in the last couple matches of the tournament revealed themselves to be the excellent side we hoped they would be when the tournament started.

So you may well have a Megan Rapinoe-shaped void in your heart. And if you don’t, watch her describe herself in one word on Sportscenter:

Okay, now you definitely have a Megan Rapinoe-shaped void in your heart. Let’s fill it!

Did you know that Megan Rapinoe is a professional soccer player who plays for the Seattle Reign and they have a match tomorrow against former Reign star Sydney Leroux’s Western New York Flash? It’s true! You know who will be in goal for Seattle? World Cup golden gloves winner and local legend/quasar of controversy Hope Solo. And in the next month, the team will also take on Carli Lloyd’s Houston Dash and Alex Morgan’s Portland Thorns.

The Reign play down at Memorial Stadium, and tickets are available to every match for under $20. That’s a great deal to watch the World Cup Golden Ball winner (Lloyd) try to score on the tournament’s best goalie. Again, if you have the void in your heart, you can go fill it.

This isn’t about obligation; just because you enjoyed the Women’s World Cup does not mean that you owe it to the athletes to watch them play for their club teams. But it is an opportunity to see these players at their best. Club teams generally have the most sophisticated tactics as they practice together more often than national teams, and matches are often more competitive because talent is more evenly distributed.

Also, Portland has been dominating the women’s league in attendance much the way that Seattle dominates in MLS. That cannot stand. Portland is outdrawing us 5-1. Come on, everyone. Let’s correct this injustice. And also let’s watch that Megan Rapinoe Vine one more time:

She’s just the best.
