Thanks to Sean Nelson, Amazon's 2013 recruiting video "Life in Seattle" is taking on a life of its own. The people at Sub Pop wasted no time making their own recruiting video. And now the producer and rapper Spekulation, who made something of a splash last year with his "Bout That Action (Beastmode Remix)," has fucked with the words and statements of the people interviewed in the video and produced something that's funny but also much closer to the truth.

If you think this parody is just over the top, that Spekulation has gone too far and is now bordering on xenophobia, all I ask is that after watching the video, you read about Mayor Ed Murray's new "9½ Block Strategy" for the city's core...

Bus stops will be moved, alleys restricted and newspaper boxes used by drug dealers removed... [All of this will help] to clean up the retail corridor that some store owners, tourism promoters and many citizens have described as an intimidating gantlet of disorder and illegal activity.
What is unsaid in the video, and said in the parody, is actually there for all to read in the Seattle Times.
