This will happen: I will be relegated to a substandard bar, stuck in a corner seat partially obstructed by a 8x8 beam, seated next to a peck of inebriated morons.

Go Hawks!

My feelings exactly.

As always, I'm rooting for the concussions. Go team go!

It's not a REAL game until three players end up in comas!! Paralysis is acceptable as well.

The Packers are forced to start a backup rookie center tonight because of injuries. The entire offense is dependent on competent center play, so with the crowd noise and the fact that the Packers are facing the number one defense in the league with a center playing his first pro game, it could be a very long night for them. As Seahawk Bruce Irvin said of the rookie center, "I'm going to pray for him."

This isn't college football. No one's "ranked".
7
power rankings Doug. NFL.com amd ESPN, etc
8
NFL power rankings are meaningless, especially with a weak AFC (and super-strong NFC West).

@8 weak is right.

Chris Pratt had a great quote about the Seahawks winning the Super Bowl being like the sun coming out in Seattle. For years, we expected losing, and then it was like a miracle when the rain ended and the sun came. I kind of expect the Seahawks to stumble out the gate, and then pull of the repeat in the closest way possible. Gern's right though that starting a new center on the loudest field in football is not going to work out for the Pack.

@8, 538's got some pretty interesting rankings up, based on Vegas betting lines and statistical analysis of things that tend to get better or worse from one season to the next (like Marshawn Lynch's workload).

I just want to note, per the "my scrolling finger is tired" option, that if I could find a way to minimize/hide/get rid of the dozen or so unread music posts about bands no one has heard of on any given day, my scrolling finger wouldn't be tired at all.
12
@11, Apparently that's not an option. You can get your music posts with or without slog posts and we're perverse for not wanting it.

Power rankings mean something to someone who considers them meaningful. So...

The Vegas preseason rankings have the 49ers at no. 4, which I'm not buying... I think they'll have a battle staying out the cellar.

There are still a few hundred tickets for sale online starting at $200.

At what point does the price come down?

Or doesn't it?

Or do the scalpers hit the streets with those tickets?

Anyone at street level that can speak to the going rate for 300 level seats outside the stadium?
15
@13: No one considers power ranking meaningful, they are pure clickbait, and the sports writing equivalent to the Huffington Post's sideboob site.

The only rankings that matter are Cortana's
