Lots of big name stars do commercials in Japan. Its a strange phenomenon for sure.

Many big-name celebrities do ads in Japan where their American fans won't see them. Often they have secrecy clauses in their contracts to prevent word getting out. Arnold, Leo DiCaprio, Meg Ryan, Orson Welles, Woody Allen, Audrey Hepburn, Jodie Foster, Robert De Niro, Dennis Hopper, Paul Newman, Nicholas Cage, David Bowie (who wrote a song especially for a brand of sake), Sting, ad infinitum.

It just occurs to me now where Red Dwarf's "Cat" got its inspiration. Until now, I had thought it was Prince.
