Feynman was a shitty teacher. And an asshole.

A bookless facility makes an awful lot of sense for a university library in these days. People need high speed connections, access to subscription-based information services (which is where all the academic publishing is happening now), and some knowledgeable folks to show them how to work the systems. Big chunks of paper are nice, but they're expensive and take up a lot of space.

I was schooled by Halliday and Resnick. Much better.

I read a couple chapters of Feynman way back, a roommate's book. The thing that stuck out most was his womanizing tips.

My bro in law knew Feynman at CalTech. He was a bad teacher and a bad person.

I sort of agree, as long as *everything* is digitized. One of my favorite pastimes/inspirations at the U of Iowa was to peruse the huge collection of Master's Thesis which were stored on the upper floors of the massive library.

SLOG's continuous and relentless hatred of UBER makes no sense. How is anything they do bad for the passenger?

A: It's not, and you've yet to demonstrate otherwise.

So the one monolithic cab company allowed to exist in Seattle is one of your advertisers. So are 10,000 bars, all of which have UBER customers coming and going nightly.

Maybe before book sellers whine about their lack of options, they could first do away with the multi-year, multi-format* release bullshit?

*That is, releasing hardback first at the ridiculously high price and weight, followed by trade paperback (the large softcover) a year later, and finally mass market paperback some time later, the format customers typically prefer.

Also: hell no to the Full House reboot. America has to finish the Olsen twins still left on its plate before it moves on to the next course.

@8 - For what it's worth, I've heard the Olsen twins are conspicuously absent from discussions about the reboot. The best theory I've heard is that it's Michelle's sudden death that starts the story this time.
