I assume the problems, to the opposition, would come from "a man pretending to be a woman" going into the bathroom to perv all over their women? Because surely they wouldn't be opposing "a woman pretending to be a man" to come into the bathroom to perv all over them? Except they'd be uncomfortable wanting to be pervy with a "woman who looks like a man."

It must suck to live your life afraid of everything all the time.

Dan, could you instead use the Mayor's office?

Having lived in Montana the first half of my life I can honestly say I'm pleasantly surprised it came that close to passing. Seriously, that state is majorly fucked up. They had a Lt. Governor in the early 1990's push to drop all state funding for HIV and AIDS patients in the state since "They're gonna die anyway".

So that vote coming that close is what they call progress in Big Sky Country!

Ah Montana! Where the men are men and the sheep run scared!

Conversation from my high school circle of friends:

"Why can't we grow food where the land is good for farming, and have people live where it isn't?"
"Because nobody wants to live in Montana."

This from the same town that inspired the "paper menorah" incident 15 years ago.

#6 IDK why you'd call it an 'incident' ... considering that it was intended as a trans-sectarian, trans-racial response to bigotry and violence... I suppose you mean the bigotry and violence that catalyzed it in the first place? It's honestly not much of a stretch for evangelical Christians to be sympathetic to Jews. It's called 'Judeo-Christian' culture for a reason, and indeed my own fundy baptist parents are very fond of Jews and Judaism. However LGBT people are another way Jews and Christians can come together, but in such case to collectively hate and marginalize them since both religions are equally bigoted.

A bit off topic here but I do want to say, just because Montana has 11 people who presently are in a posistion to vote down this ordinance does not mean any of you have the right to speak poorly of this state. I for one love Montana and so I take offense that people bad mouth us. I did not oppose the ordinance. But I oppose you talking trash about all of Montana.

@3, I was born and raised there: The trash talk is totally justified until YOU work to change the minds of the vast majority of inbred assholes who you live amongst.

And that was directed to #8..

Please wait...
