"Folks?" Oh Obama, don't try folksy on this one.

This is so tough to hear although anyone paying attention knew this all along (especially if you were listening to Rumsfield or Cheney).

True, torture was wrong. But nearly 3000 far more friendlier and nicer folks were also tortured in their excruciating horrific deaths, far more painfully.

@2 - And in neither case was the world made better as a result.

So, these so called tortured persons (poor souls) who are detained for trying to murder Americans are getting sympathy from who? These ignorant ragheads need to be the target of a drone, collateral damage can be blamed on them as well. Americans need to get away from the middle east as soon as possible. We don't need their oil anymore, we don't need the warfare that's been going on for centuries, let's get back to apple pie and backyard barbeques and enjoy the American way of life, we will even invite some republicans if they don't try to bring their crooked politics into it.

@6 ... not sure if sarcasm or stupidity ...

Well at least it's active voice first person plural, unlike Bush's passive voice "mistakes were made." But an admission of torture by the Government of the United States of America demands more gravitas than "folks".

@2

1) "True, torture was wrong." It is wrong, by the way. It's also ineffective: two big ideas that should concern humanity, and you.

2) "But nearly 3000 far more friendlier and nicer folks were also tortured in their excruciating horrific deaths, far more painfully."

And what does 1) have to do with 2)? Why mention them together?

Please wait...
