i've read this a number of other places too. given these circumstances with whom do you suppose we'd be at war? Russia? ...not hardly. even Bush wouldn't have been so clueless as to actually start a world-war, potentially a nuclear one, even if the airplane was nothing but full of children; most especially since we all presume it was a grotesque error. (yes there are some conspiracy nuts that say it wasn't an mistake, but there are always some conspiracy nuts)

If the goal is to shame us to be as outraged as if they were our own, then that's a possible point. But, with the Europeans essentially whistling to the skies to preserve their happy Russian trading partners, i don't think we're the first in line to shame, at least not this time

Some people would say that we are at war. It's just that it is a proxy war. True, one has to be aware that a war has been going on in eastern Ukraine (no thanks to corporate media)
