Nearly an inch of rain fell over Albuquerque on Wednesday night, breaking a more-than-80-year-old record of 0.71 inch, set in 1933, according to the National Weather Service.
@5: TL;DR: It is easy not to feel sympathy for a person once you pretend that they aren't a real human being, but some Arab dog who would never be civilized anyways.
@13, yes: they want Israel to be seen as a pariah aggressive nation. It's working, as illustrated by this and all other blog/newspaper comment section.
@13 - To answer your question, yes, there are plenty of other ways to interpret this situation. The fact that you only see one shows is telling. But, assuming that you are not just trolling us, here are some questions for you: What do you mean by "collective death wish"? Where does the wish come from and how does it become collective? Is it in their DNA? Or cultural? If so, at what age do they decide they want to die? Is it inculcated during infancy, or do they only decide around age 3 or 4? How do the Palestinians all come think in the exact same way, some sort of Gaza/West Bank newspaper or blog? Or by ESP? Or are they all just similar enough (women, men, children, politicians, fruit sellers) that they innately want the same thing? Side question: What, by contrast, is the collective wish of Israel or of the U.S.A.?
@15: The racist KM wants to pretend that everyone in Gaza is a terrorist or a supporter of Hamas, and that Gaza would be a peaceful paradise if they didn't attack Israel. KM will not mention the blockade against Gaza or the reports that Gaza will be uninhabitable in less than 10 years. He considers Israel to be the only victim here and ignores the collective punishment that was designed to create a million refugees.
i see everyone is in a very trolly mood this morning!
I hope the Ukrainian 'evidence' holds up and the sanctions on Putin get ratcheted up; only when he starts to see eastern Ukraine as too expensive will things settle back down there.
Ansel will have a problem with that double-murder.
He's got a (presumably) Moslem killing black gays.
What will Ansel do?
Blame Israel!
As to Gaza, Hamas is deliberately provoking Israel by shooting rockets and Israel send back bombs.
Result? Accidental deaths of Gazans, including babies.
Solution? Hamas don't shoot rockets so Israel won't return fire.
Easy.
"I think it is fair to say that the arabs lack a tradition of resolving political disputes through negotiation and compromise. "
You are either phenomenally ignorant or profoundly racist. I'm not sure which one at the moment, nor do I wish to discuss this with you further. Go to Stormfront and discuss your theories there.
Jess Spear was at the rally downtown today in support of Palestine & peace. Frank Chopp was presumably having a power lunch with some business donors (who knows).
In other exciting news, at the Sounders-Spurs match today I saw one of those thrilling coal trains that everyone is so happy about. About a mile of uncovered coal cars rocking along at 15 MPH. I thought this was still being discussed; I didn't realize they were already happening.
@28, presumably he's doing what he does every other day, which is meeting with people from his district, or with other members of the caucus to discuss strategy -- things that actually make a difference in the legislature. Spears has never done either of those things.
The rally is a classic example. The participants get a pleasurable rush of pleasure, no one else even notices that they were there, and the Palestinians are assisted not one tiny fraction of a bit. They're well-used to meaningless gestures by now, of course, as are you and Ms. Spear.
@27: The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. It's a constitutional monarchy with a strong economy, protected freedom of religion, solid infrastructure and law enforcement, and good relations with Israel. The only real black mark against it is its mediocre record on civil liberties and freedom of the press, but ah well.
As to Israel and Hamas, I will take the side that honors and respects women and gays rather than engaging in honor killings of women and gays as Hamas does.
Also, building missile batteries in, and shooting missiles from, densely populated poor areas, rather than from rural areas or the seaside enclaves of Hamas's leaders, is a terrific way to sacrfice the poor, which Hamas is doing with these human shields.

That's some profound racism there.
But ... Fuck Mars Hill!

Musab Mohamed Masmari's attempted murder of 750 people at Seattle's leading gay club, Neighbors.
Ali Muhammed Brown's successful murder of two gay men the CD.
When will Slog get onto this epidemic of gay hatred and muurder from Seattle’s Moslems?
He's got a (presumably) Moslem killing black gays.

Oh, and kindly go fuck yourself.
There's never been a country called Palestine. She may as well attended a rally in support of Westeros.
I was once that way too -- young and simple.

They've been coming through Seattle for about .... oh 50 years. It's only recently that the ladies have gotten hysterical about it.
Simple enough so that when I say "Hop!" you say "How high."
@38
STFU
