Growing up during that time, I could never keep my Winter brothers straight.

There were these hits on the radio by Edgar Winter and then there would be concert announcements for Johnny Winter. As a tween trying to comprehend the great rush of musicians from the 1960s and 70s, I just never got it right about the Winters.

I saw Edgar Winter at the now defunct Darrington Classic Rock Festival (great) a couple of years ago. I probably saw Johnny Winter on TV on Don Kirshner at some point.

Your post probably cleared it up for me more I could during my lifetime, so thanks for that.

Rick Derringer wrote "Hoochie Koo" and had the hit with it mid 70s, so I don't know it Winter was known for his version of it as much as that. In later years he and his brother were mostly known for their lawsuit against DC who turned them into murderous worm-humping cretins in a Jonah Hex series.
