How will they know if you are texting and driving?
2
Wow, a great decision. It isn't so much dick pics as my calendar, my address book, call history, my bank account, investments, company logins, documents, GPS trail, etc. It is absurd that it would require a warrant to search so many of these data sources, but if you're carrying a phone they can require you to open access to many of them.

Dan, based on the article to which you linked, the woman scorned was a housewife and a former or inactive porn star.

It seems to me that you're usually better about not making appearances in over 200 adult films define someone for the rest of their life.
4
But can a cop use your phone to call next of kin in your contacts list if he finds you unconscious in an accident or something?
5
Apparently Rogers offered a very interesting re-definition of a "cell phone".

@1,

I was wondering the same thing. Maybe if they have probable cause to suspect you, then can ask you to provide evidence to the contrary. And if you refuse, this can provide grounds for citation. Think would seem similar to a request to perform a field sobriety test, though perhaps someone with more knowledge could chime in.
7
I'm just relieved that a 'dick pick' is not a thing. EDITOR!
8
@4- Mostly we all have password protection so that would be out anyway. It's actually a great idea to have an ICE number that you could get to under lockdown- for when you find a lost phone too.

Hell freezes over. Wow.

I can't believe the right-wing authoritarian pricks on the bench ruled for this, let alone in a unanimous decision. I actually expected them to completely shitcan the fourth amendment and give the cops totally free reign.

I'm gobsmacked.
10
are the cops dick pics safe from us?

Shorter Roberts: "Justice Thomas, dick pic away!"
12
Yeah, but really, a warrant is just some judge away. They pass them out like t.p.
13
Thomas takes pictures of his pubes.
14
Trolls in particular ought to read Roger's re-definition of a cell phone.
Very relevant.
May give you food for thought, if possible.

Unanimous decisions are not rare. http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/volok… and http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/polit…
