Fuck, fuck, fuck. Stay out of Iraq. This Sunni insurgency is more of a big deal to Iran than it is to us. With any luck, Iraq and Iran could work together to get rid of it with some legitimacy. All of that is lost if we decide to get involved. Do we really want to own another fight?
@1: I'll only take issue with your third sentence:
Sunni insurgency is more of a big deal to Iran than it is to us.
The ISIS forces (The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant/Syria) is a big deal to the world. Let's just hope that the only tangible affect on us is higher oil prices, but we have legitimate worry that this situation is getting dire.
So now we have to bomb Iraq to remedy the chaos that resulted from the last time we bombed Iraq? Reminds me of Drinky Crow curing his hangover with more booze.
A United States of Arabia is the only answer, but a Strongman has not yet emerged there.
The United States of America has two continents to worry about.
We have some guys currently in Afghanistan who are in need of work, I guess.
That'll show 'em.
Lets not use this continuing humanitarian clusterfuck to score political points. That's some Fox news nonsense.
The ISIS forces (The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant/Syria) is a big deal to the world. Let's just hope that the only tangible affect on us is higher oil prices, but we have legitimate worry that this situation is getting dire.
"Muslim militias are threatening the oil fields we fought hard to take control of from a sovereign nation? Holy shit! We better do something NOW!!"
Make something about oil and watch how fast our normally sluggish federal government gets on its toes.
