Also, husbands never, ever hurt or kill or rape their wives.

Remember when the Washington Post was the locus of American investigative journalism and one of our crucial papers of record?

Yeah, me neither.

Domestic violence is a post-Feminist Revolution occurrence?

What the fuck is this... 1796 or something? What patriarchal woodwork are these GeorgeWilsoncox jackknobs crawling out of?

Further evidence, imho, that more information eventually swells and creates so much noise as to reinforce pockets of ignorance, and ideology-reflecting echo-chambers.

Remember when slog was something besides shit reposted from Jezebel and Gawker?

Less research! More blaming!

@2:

I do in fact. It makes me sad to see the depths to which they've stooped.

Of course, don't marry the wrong man. Since abuse tends to increase after marriage. It also tends to increase after the birth of a child. Sure, poverty also tends to increase abuse. Basically, any factor that makes it harder for the victim to leave makes the abuser feel safer to abuse more. If you want to decrease abuse - increase people's ability to safely leave. It also helps to increase respect for individual autonomy even within a relationship, such as not having beliefs about partners owing you sex or housework or whatnot. If you don't like what you're getting out of a relationship, you have an absolute right to leave. And people should be encouraged to break up rather than try to force their partner into becoming what they are looking for. It's fine to tell a partner what you want in a relationship, but if you're generally not getting it, look elsewhere rather than trying to manipulate someone who isn't right for you into being more what you want. The latter pretty much never works out well.

I also would like to point out that married women are less likely to report abuse at the hands of their husbands. So the source data isn't even reliable.

So the takeaway lesson is that we still need a man to protect us?

George Will's entire purpose in life is to bemoan the lack of suffering in the world. He wants more. Suffering is good for you.

Every time I see or read something containing George Will, I think less of him. I keep thinking I've hit bottom, but yet he still finds a way.

Wait a minute . . . . didn't Bezos buy WaPo?

Explains a lot, I suspect. That's okay, fools, keep buying shit from Amazon because it's so totally cool . . .

Women, maybe it's about time to start questioning your retail loyalty. Just sayin . . .

Thanks purrl. Bingo. Weapon is Jeff Bezos now.

So... misogyny isn't a problem. The problem is that women aren't sexually available.
Sexual assault isn't a problem. The problem is that women are drama queens.
Domestic violence isn't a problem. The problem is that women are sluts.

I'm sensing a pattern here. Hmm, what could it be?

Please wait...
