Hitler gets such a bad rap.

Youth ministries should probably choose their phrasing about how they use children wisely. Actually you guys, probably best not to talk about children altogether.

What makes it amazing isn't just that the quote is from Hitler, but that the billboard credits him boldly. Somebody there (many somebodies) actually thought quoting Hitler was a good idea.

The "Adolf Hitler" attribution looks shopped. I imagine that was added after the fact for clarification.

I think it was already there, and central to the message this place is trying to get across. They're trying to say 'If you don't let us indoctrinate your children in our cult, someone else will indoctrinate them in the wrong sort of cult' or something along those lines.

Just my guess, it could be spray painted or shopped on there, and the people running the ministry are completely clueless.

@5 and 7. I'm guessing the attribution is part of the original billboard, because in the accompanying news story the ministry is not denying the charge or attempting to pass the blame for Hitler's name being there.

A Hitler quoting, "Train Up A Child" referencing ministry probably has a pastor who belongs in jail.

@2: Ditto. I didn't expect them to actually credit Hitler for the quote on the billboard. Points for honesty/ballsiness, I suppose. It's not every day that a church is so obvious about their true motivations.

@7 Agreed. The idea, however poorly conceived, is that if parents don't raise their children right, someone else will. And that someone could be like Hitler.
