@9 As hard as it may be for you to believe, the biggest danger to us here in the United States is not the Islamic Sharia law types, but the Christian Dominionists. They've made great strides in the last 25 years and are continuing to increase their influence. There are a number of prominent elected Republicans who count themselves among them, including governors and senators, and the military chaplaincy is infested with them.

While I certainly don't approve of fundamentalism of any stripe, we need to recognize actual, concrete, rising threats to our republic with clear eyes. The fact that these people count themselves as Christians does not make them compatible with our American way of life. Try identifying less with adopted labels and more with ideals and principles.

Personally, due to their power and local influence, I am much more concerned about radical Christians stomping on individual liberties here at home.

I'm just glad it wasn't a choice between either marriage equality for PA or Santorum shutting the hell up. That would have been a tough call. Fortunately, we have both.

When is the republican party going to wake up and realize that they are not in this century? How many more people have to be killed by restricting gun control? At 10% of the population (at least) of gay persons, when do these idiots finally come to conclusion that they have been wrong all these years?
