Well. To be fair the left does this kind of Ideological Check-Listing bullshit griping in TV and movie reviews all the time. But with the far-leftist ideological purity filtering of art - the good is the enemy of the perfect.

Remember WALL-E? A cartoon robot with a great ecological message - it was too sexist and it fat-shamed. Breaking Bad was accused of stereotyping Latinos. Fuck. Wasn't Stephen Colbert satirical character just accused of being a racist? We could go on and on with examples really.

With all these Right or Left extremists nothing is "pure enough."

What drives "taco trucks" out of business is food service regulations, not restrictive or anti-competitive laws. How many of those trucks do you honestly believe have running hot water for the servers to wash their hands with? Food-trucks need to renamed food-poisoning-trucks. The sooner they are run out of business the better.

Someone lime Matthew Yglesias would write such things. Some rules are silly: restrictions on traditional African hair styling ( must have a cosmetologist licence! ).

Food trucks should be freer to operate.

@2: Good point.

@2: and sometimes it really is useless restrictive laws. In Houston there's a law on the books about 2 or more food trucks being with a certain distance of each other because somehow that could make downtown blow up.

Please wait...
