This will be another Clavin Bundy for the far right. Its amazing how many conservatives support Sterling, when they have no idea about his past actions. The fact that his tenants, city of Santa Monica and the US Attorney successfully sued him over racial discrimination in his rental properties opens the door wide open for more schadenfreude.

Fuck off Kareem, you dangerous nitwit. Racism may be odious but it's not criminal and will never be eliminated. This rampaging lust for identifying thoughtcrime and wrongthink has gotten way out of hand.

I wonder if work camps for re-education might be the best approach. Maybe publish a list of unacceptable thoughts and put NSA to work. Find out who is thinking bad things and help them by gentle re-education.

Always good fun when people start drawing parallels between getting kicked out of the NBA and getting sent to re-education camps. Slippery slope indeed. Poor Donald Sterling may lose two of his millions of dollars over this! Obviously his next stop will be Auschwitz.

While some parts of this post I find poorly-worded, I have no objection to the idea that we would all be better off if we worked a little harder at interrogating our thoughts as well as our actions.

Billionaire, 85, cheating on his 'estraged' wife who sues the 25-year-old mistress whose defense team releases a tape of him imitating a slave owner, and who is the victim? This being 'Merica, the rich are entitled assholes who always deserve more:

"I wish I had just paid her off," Sterling told DuJour magazine, a Los Angeles lifestyle publication, speaking of V. Stiviano, the girlfriend to whom Sterling made the recorded comments.

Here's the most trenchant coverage I've seen of this:

"This line of thinking accomplishes nothing."

Oh man, you have got Charles nailed.

(I do appreciate C.M. Just saying.)

Great article. its important to have a mirror to the self. Humour is a powerful vehicle. I think of things I have laughed at over my life--sometimes really hard. Then I think of how I’m different thinking now because I have strived to introduce the butt of my joke into my life to figure out what is truly extraordinary about our existence as humans. To learn about people and their stories; to find what is the basic comedy that we call this life of dealing with life’s necessities and consequences and other people helps to empower my mind to really be funny, to really address my fears/ my racism, my hopes. To really see people for how special and common we are. To re adjust the thing that is the butt of the joke. in the end i will find the butt of the joke is just me trying to make sense and assimilate our culture and the state of being alive--and having to to do it with others. Continually pushing and evaluating how others are affected by life can truly prepare me to know more about myself and what i want to arouse in others not like me. a daily reminder that I’m not that great at any of these things but I try--and why I try helps me to think and be charismatic to others not like me…of course I’m still working on what to think about people like me--including myself!

I do not think I wrote well whats in my mind. but I know that I can slay a new phobic/racist moment in my mind with clarity. And laugh at myself all the way. no control police needed--THANX

Not sure if any of you noticed but the Los Angeles chapter of the NAACP is embarrassed by this. Check out this advert/photo/article. It is positively surreal:

Wow!

Depth psychologists would suggest that transparency is an act of fiction rather than revelation; and that, moreover, we never possess an honest, conscious grasp of our "motives".

In government, sure, transparency is a nice slogan. I for one have no interest in being present while White Supremacy work itself out. I'd be thrilled if it just shuts the fuck up for a minute.

We have a lot of people, particularly on the right, who can't seem to tell the difference between freedom OF speech, which is guaranteed, and freedom FROM speech which is not. Long story short - you can say whatever you want, but by saying it you are agreeing to be accountable for it.

Accountability includes everything up to and including turning yourself into a social outcast and pariah.

If you require "acting" in order to NOT say shit that's just repugnant and assholey, then that's your problem. Welcome to the world.

@13 Good point. If you have a lot of $ that does not entitle you to be an asshole. He's a stinky one at that.

fuck all that noise, what you say in the privacy of your own home pretty much amounts to what you think. And that Asshole is free to think in the most bigoted racist way he desires,

We cannot police what people think (or say in the privacy of their own homes)

the real wrong doers in this case are the journalists that invaded that fucking bigoted asshole's personal, private space

I know you fucking morons in Seattle like to get on a moral high horse (just like your better looking more musical mirror image of your own ignorance; the right wing bigots who want govt. sponsored bigotry against LGBT families to prevail) but you dipshits don't have the right to violate a person's personal private space

you are abusing your right to free speech by even spreading the rumors,

YES DON Sterling is an asshole bigot, but whatever some idiot said to provoke him into that alleged fucked up crazy talk racist rant was not included,

you know theres that plus the rumors that Charles is a caucasian who posts from a non-caucasian profile (which some people would also consider a bigoted thing to do)

we have enough problems with people having their most basic rights illegally withheld, way overstepping the bounds of law -- even for simple public ridicule -- even though the dude is an asshole bigot (just like the typical Seattle Stranger author/poster) even assholes, bigots, stupid Seattlites are free to think in whatever fucked up, right trampling frame of mind they want to

when Don starts holding press conferences and speaking to interviews like that, then by all means, do what every tabloid does do, print your smut

but don't become the criminal to persecute those who think different than you

Please wait...
