I guess you all should have voted for the Green Party candidate.... oh wait.
2
Once he cancels the Deep Carbon Tunnel (aka Big Bertha Skatepark) that has double the climate change emissions of the Viaduct it "theoretically" replaces, all will be forgiven.

And gets us our REFUND for the Drill That Died.

Inslee not mention public transit is kind of a big deal.

Leave it to Dimslee to get everything wrong.

i'd like to hear that answer, alex steffen. inslee's in a box tighter than gregoire's.

divided, spineless legislature. boxed-in, fluctuating revenue streams. road infrastructure crumbling. tim eyman. the populist hostility to taxes. the constitutional inability to levy an income tax. its citizens frogs in a pot just starting to get above room temperature, in a place better suited to bear climate change than most.

meaningful action will take the legislature. and because fucking republicans are involved, there's no one smart to cooperate with. throwing stones at inslee is pointless, like it is at obama.

Oh man, it's gonna be a beautiful 80 degrees tomorrow. Why the sad faces ladies?

@5 Inslee has already revealed himself as a stooge of industry with the boeing union busting deal. the tired excuse of republicans, media, economy, etc stopping centrist corporate dems from doing all the wonderful things they would like to do but can't is becoming apparent even to the most moderate of liberals.

Ansel, it sounds like your main complaint is that Inslee is not an omnipotent King who can simply issue decrees. And as for concrete steps. what part of "binding carbon emission limits" do you not understand? I'm with Eric de Place on this one.

Stefan and his McGinnite following all got boners over Seattle being 'carbon neutral' by 2050 (largely by not measuring everything and buying offsets).

And the sham that Sightline is of course is a-ok with a half-assed solution - as long as it doesn't disrupt anyone's pro-development undercurrent.

Face it, we're fucked, and the next generations will have to deal with the shit left us by green-washed democrats, self-important pundits, and a disinterested public...

I like the range of comments here. There are some handles here to work with while simultaneously publicizing where it falls short. At least it makes clear that pushing forward on a carbon tax initiative from the bottom up is the next important task on our agenda. I think Yoram Bauman's comments today at CarbonWa get it about right. See http://carbonwa.org/inslees-executive-or…
