The Blue Angels waste massive amounts of money on upkeep, fuel and salaries for the pilots and crew - all so the rubes can marvel at the "beauty" of them flying in formation. Time for them to be retired. They cost way, way too much money and make too much noise. When people talk of government waste, why don't people speak of the Blue Angels?

I will gladly tip in my $.50 a year to see these guys tear it up over Seattle - pretty sure there are horrible people that have walked through the doors of every profession known to man. One dick hear pilot wont change my view - get er done

I'm sorry, no wait I'm not sorry, but I love them. I love them because they are loud. And I have to agree with the Misanthrope, the allegations are hardly what you could call surprising. My brother is a retired Air Force fighter pilot and his nickname for his entire career was Cunneenlingus.

Screw the blue angels! Massive waste of resources. We have millions living in poverty yet our nation uses its tax base to fund war plane shows at millions per year. And knowing we spend billions using the same weaponry to terrorize and kill (mostly innocent) people around the globe just makes their show all the more obscene.

The only thing in my opinion that might mean the Blue Angels should be retired is the likelihood that the jets are now so heavily electronically assisted that you can't marvel at them anymore without knowing for sure if it is all due to their skill.

I don't understand the Slog hate for the Blue Angels. Obviously hostile work environments are bad, but the Angels themselves are cool and fun.

100% of my federal taxes in a given year does not cover the operational cost (fuel, maintenance, crew) of the time the Blue Angels spend taxiing on the ground at Boeing Field when they come to Seattle.
