I suspect Murray DID know what he was doing - replacing McGinn's people with Murray people, in order to instill loyalty. The reform part is secondary to the Mayor, who needs to establish "his" team of "reformers" first.

Because he is politician first, and mayor second. Because in America, we care more about personal ideals than governing.

Fuck.

The man who opened his door to strangers and was attacked should have known better. And since the weather is getting better, this is a good time to remind people that crooks will be looking for unsecured windows. Don't be a victim.

RCW 46.61.235

If there isn't a marked crosswalk at that intersection, there sure as hell is an implied one.

I understand that everyone must mourn in their own way, but some paint in one intersection might be a memorial, but it doesn't address the issue.

We need routine police emphasis patrols for pedestrian safety.

@1 is correct

@2 seems not to understand it's fairly easy to break through most modern windows and modern doors - the doors are hollow so it doesn't matter how much you lock it and your gun won't stop most intruders btw.

Interesting take on the Pope. His rebranding is just that -- a rebranding, no revision of doctrine. But he's a master of the perceived warm outreach, while it also seems that he's seriously interested in dragging the RC into the 20th Century, at least. I'd like to see him bring dogma along with him, but getting him to shake loose the money and spread it among the poor whom the Church is supposed to be serving is a good beginning.

@2 Well, what was he wearing?

@4 You don't want to be an easy mark. Of course, if they are determined, they can get in.

Absolutely. I've come close to being hit twice in the past 2 years at marked 4 way intersections with BOTH flashing red lights and stop signs. Just recently I was rage-honked at by a driver for crossing at a marked pedestrian crossing with hi-viz signs and flashing lights (kinda hard to miss).
And the antics I have observed among downtown drivers during afternoon rush hour have to be seen to be believed.
+1 on the pedestrian emphasis patrols.

"and your gun won't stop most intruders btw"

And you arrived at this conclusion how exactly?

10
@6 you are the best

@4: But a barking dog would.

I love that goat's collabo with Miley Cyrus.

@2: Yes, and metal bars across all your windows and doors backed by bulletproof glass and donning a kevlar suit would have kept him safe, too. Feel free to live that way if you like.

Please wait...
