Here's interesting info on the madman in Kansas City, from the Southern Poverty Law Center's webpage on him.

He has a long history. I wonder if the guns he used were bought legally? Because this guy should never have been able to buy guns after going to jail in the 1980's and threatening to kill people.

Here's an important paragraph:

"But, in 1987, while still out on bond, Miller disappeared and went underground. He mailed a "Declaration of War" to supporters, exhorting “Aryan warriors of The Order” to kill “our enemies,” and established a point system for each kill. The targets were: “Niggers (1), White race traitors (10), Jews (10), Judges (50) Morris Seligman Dees (888).” He signed the statement “Glenn Miller, loyal member of ‘The Order."

Intern item, link #2 error?
4
"One piglet from the petting farm died."

@5 You always chime in with idiotic statements that don't add anything to the discussion. They are also not funny. Often your statements are regarding stories where people have died or have been murdered.

Perhaps you should think before you type. You sound like a jerk when you act this way.

Also from the report from the SPLC:

"Miller has ties to Kevin W. Harpham, a neo-Nazi who was convicted of attempting to bomb a Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade in Spokane, Wash., in 2011. Although Harpham pleaded guilty, Miller was convinced that Harpham’s lawyers deceitfully convinced him that he would be found guilty regardless of his innocence. Throughout his trial proceedings, Miller was a regular pen pal with Harpham, who was sentenced to 32 years in prison. "

The second link in the "unpaid interns" news item is whoopsing.
9
@3 and @8: Fixed, thank you!
10
I mean, it doesn't matter if it's banksy; it's good street art.
11
Only a shitty organization that is progressive in name only would exploit unpaid interns for free labor.
12
@2: The significance of "888" points assigned to Morris Dees definitely points to Neo-Nazi ties; 88 and 14 are important numbers to that sort of scum. (Respectively, because 'H' is the 8th letter and '88' therefore stands for 'HH' or 'Heil Hitler', and because some old racist douche once said 14 words about how they need to protect white people.) For all they hate use Jews, we were practicing numerology long before they got the idea.
Fucking fascists. Understanding how their sick minds work is the key to defeating them and quelling such idiocy in others.
13
@11 While I would like to agree with you, I have seen plenty of organizations I would consider actually progressive, that exploited financially secure supporters in this role, or hand-waved past the issue due to the importance of their cause, ala ends justification.
14
@11, now you've done it. No Slog sports correspondent gig for you! (Their loss.)
15
So glad to see that the owner of Outside magazine is a super rich kid who lives in a 20,000 sq foot mansion. He totally shouldn't pay those interns, how else would he be able to afford exotic vacations.
17
Ansel, you are tediously, sanctimoniously myopic. Do you ever consider the option that some "progressive" organizations are just caught up in the same f'ed up system of unpaid labor that everyone else is caught up in and that they might-- just might--actually prefer to be paying (and getting paid) more for social services work?
18
The title is misspelled, "Man Kills 3 at Jewish Centers in Kansas", should be spelled, "Terrorist Kills 3 at Jewish Centers in Kansas".

Or you could go with "Christian Terrorist
"
19
Well, I guess sgt doom's tinfoil-lined compound was not buried in the mudslide.

Sorry to see you back Doomy. Now go away again for longer.

And in better news, another one (sort of) bites the dust:

Federal judge overturns OH's ban on recognizing SSM from other states.

Maryland governor Martin O'Malley signs bill partially decriminalizing marijuana:

Martin O'Malley is unable to seek a third term, and Democrat Heather Mizeur is running:

@18 Just because someone is a white supremist or part of the KKK doesn't necessarily mean they are Christian. Did the Stranger refer to the Muslim immigrant who shot up the Jewish Center in Seattle a few years ago as an Islamic terrorist? I couldn't find it. Did they use it as an example of how Muslims in Seattle have a tolerance problem? Hell no.
24
Let me guess. The bus assailants were poor, homeless children deserving of sympathy and the driver was just a 'white American'.

Of course, if they had so much as stuck their tongues out at Ansel, the little bitch would've curled up in a ball and blew his rape whistle.
25
@23, I don't give a shit what the Stranger did or didn't write way back when.
26
@23,

That guy was Christian, racist.
27
I just got a Mars Hill ad on Pandora. Mark Driscoll claims that they are all about Jesus all the time.... How does that fit in with the idiotic submission bullshit?
28
@23: The KKK's ideals go strongly against those of Christianity, just as Al Qaeda's ideals go strongly against those of Islam. However, the KKK and Al Qaeda claim to espouse Christianity and Islam respectively and cloak their hatred in religious wording. If you're going to call Al Qaeda "Islamic terrorists", it is only logical to call the KKK "Christian terrorists".

@19: I'm sure he has some sort of Faraday cage set up wherever he squats, but I always imagined it to be a basement or a storage unit.

You can bet that he'll be extra careful now though. He'll be the first to tell you that the landslide was just the latest test of the government's new weather control weapon, and he was the target!

Please wait...
