So I read this book that Dan Savage is all going on about, and come to find out Jane Goodall was feeding the "wild" chimps she observed. She set up this feeding station with a big box full of bananas that opened at a certain time every day. So the chimps all stopped their casual grazing and instead staked out territory around this valuable resource Goodall had set up.
So now they chimps have this valuable resource to defend and next thing you know they're going to war. Then Jane Goodall comes out and tells the world how violent chimps are.

That's some shit right there.
About 20 years ago, I got up close to Goodall after a press conference.
In a small group afterwards, someone asked her if she believed chimps have "souls."
Goodall replied, "If we have souls, they have souls."
