Detective Mike Ciesynski says they won't be releasing all the new photos. “What are people going to gain from seeing pictures of Kurt Cobain laying on the ground with his hair blown back, with blood coming out of his nose and trauma to his eyes from a penetrating shotgun wound? How’s that going to benefit anybody?"

That quotation sounds like it comes from an Onion article.

@1 -- Right? Says he's not going to release the photo and then goes on to describe it in photographic detail. That said, at least he's not releasing the photo: If there's any tiny smidgen of privacy left to give the guy, we ought to give it to him.

Blobs are simple and Blobs are straight
Blobs are lazy and Blobs are late
Blobs all come with points of view
Blobs don't do what I want them to
Blobs just twist the truth around
Blobs are living turned inside out
Blobs are getting the best of them
Blobs are nothing on the face of things
Blobs don't stain the furniture
Blobs go out and slam the door
Blobs are written all over your face
Blobs continue to change their shape

The irony of ANY staff from the stranger, especially an editor, commenting on the decency of refraining from publishing gory photos - after the Stranger published the autopsy photos of that Dawn girl - is fucking RICH.

North Carolina has NHL hockey, that's what else there is to do there.

@4

I looked into my soul the other night, and realized The Stranger being laughably hypocritical is old old old news. Yet it's worth repeating.

Saw a post mortem photo on then internet in 96/97 and wish I could unsee it to this day. An acquaintance had very different taste in web sites XP

You're completely wrong about Grand Budapest Hotel, philistine.

@6, feel free to fuck off and never come back.

And the Biltmore Estate, nice beach resorts, Ashland, and brisk air mountain retreats.

Unfortunately, I cannot defined Microsoft in this case. Tsk tsk.

It would be fucking awesome if it turned out that Richard Lee was right about everything.

Just think - If this is the quality of investigation that goes into a high profile celebrity case, imagine how many shits they don't give for the death of an average schlub.

From our point of view in the age of digital photos, another 60+ images are nothing. Of course we want those extra 60 pics. What's another 50 megabytes? Why not?

It never even occurs to us to consider that they're redundant and not worth the cost of developing and printing, or the man hours spent going through them. It makes sense to have shot the film, because it would be there just in case, if they needed to decide any disputes.

But no real dispute -- only imaginary ones -- ever arose in the Cobain suicide so they didn't waste money developing the film. The Polaroids they had clearly showed what happened and nobody looked at any of the Polaroids and said "Gee, I can't quite make out what this is. Got anything better?" Except stoners and their conspiracy blogs.

Please wait...
