Yep, it's a dog-eat-dog world out there.

And now the wolf must be shot.

Not that I have much evidence, but the wolf may have been in a stage of rabies. Wolves (especially ones who are alone) are typically very wary of humans and would usually be very wary of a human with several dogs. Any wolf acting the way this one did is either ill, of a very odd tempermant, or incredibly desperate for food, as the woman suggests.

Not to jump topics, but this is an actual example of why people in this country need to be allowed to own guns. Some people live in areas that are still quite wild, and need to be able to defend themselves from wildlife. Still no reason why lonely dudes in the cities and suburbs need arsenals though, obviously.

@2, training and preparation for the day they might be moving out to Alaska ?

Good luck, poor wolf.

I'm sorry the owner lost her dog, and I know it has been difficult for her and her pets, and I admire her for her respect for the wolf.

Rad, my home town made the Slog!! My best friend lives a few miles down river and her family lost a dog to this pack too. It is very strange behavior for wolves. They also had several other dogs with them so it's super weird. Not rabies weird though.
They will never take guns away from Alaskans!
This is very near to where they shoot the show Goldrush by the way. It's terrible there, never visit! Just kidding it's the best place on earth, that's why I don't want you there.

Somebody get Sarah Palin on the blower; there's a dog-killing wolf that needs aerial huntin'!

Also, @1 FTW.
8
@7 Seriously? FTW for something that obvious?
9
@6: who's trying to take guns away from Alaskans? your fevered, paranoid brains?

@2... So, with a gun, she could have shot the wolf??? The end score would still be one dead canine, eh? She obviously did not need a gun to protect herself.

Please wait...
