While I agree the poster is boasts some decent graphic design, it fails, miserably, to clearly inform the viewer of what the event is by using an unclear, too-stylized font.
In my opinion the name of the band should be in a clearer, bolder font. Sure, one can read it as it is - but it doesn't jump out at the viewer and takes several readings to comprehend.
To ensure that it wasn't just me who thought this, I just surveyed 100 anonymous people on the street, showing them this image on a large monitor and the results are in: 82% say the font is "unreadable".
Stylized fonts keep out the riff-raff. If you are a person that can't decode something other than Helvetica the side of a bus, you're probably not going to be interested in the dreamstate out-there stylings of Shabazz Palaces.
Now if I could just figure what the hell is going on in that picture…
I don't get it. Does Red Bull support Sarah Palin? Mars Hill? The judicial system of Florida? The dozens of other people Slog regularly whines about?
