if we said "all gays and women from countries where gays/women r treated shitty who can pass a basic english test can come" we'd boost the crap out of our economy by bringing on workers as we trend (slowly) back toward full employment, make english teaching skills a valuable commodity for export and generally prompt hella investment in education by improving ROI signals in Africa, MidEast etc
