A little history of the time I found myself needing to do an about face of attempting to be an ally to polyamorists:

I was attempting to explain to an anonymous individual, how there is no excuse to continue to withhold Constitutional Rights from my LGBT brothers and sisters and the govt. sponsored bigotry in regards to the whole marriage deal.

Anonymous tried to tell me that the reason it was being so bitterly fought, was largely due to their fear that they would be forced by law to officiate and preform same sex marriages as Priest or Clergymen of their affiliated denomination of organized religion.

I explained to him that this was the last step of denial for those who are otherwise good-hearted people, who had learned bigotry from their parents. That it was the way they grew up, that it is not easy to accept that you are in fact a bigot, and that in time it would pass

exactly the same phase to understanding the truth that many of the bigots commenting here, the mirror images, have yet to pass

I tried to explain this phase to Anonymous, who wouldn't listen

I explained to him how the fear is irrational, for you can make all the laws you want trying to force people to do what is right, but you can never stop a bigot from hating and trying to marginalize or intimidate a bigot from projecting his hatred of himself onto others.

Bigots in the South will be able to get away with being an asshole to non-caucasians no matter what laws are passed, Police officers will always be able to pull you over, even though you did nothing wrong, and certainly no racist branch of any denomination could be forced to preform the ceremony marrying a non-caucasian male with a white woman

I told him in a not so gentle way, how crazy such a fear is, and how pathetic of an excuse it was to not admit the bigotry --- which I fully understand is a hard trait to admit --- but that it is a first step

and now shifting gears, I will again state, that I am not in favor of laws which amount to govt. sponsorship of wrongful discrimination

and I know that no matter how much I stress that, many of your readers as well as most of the journalists and even some staff members , are too stupid to understand myself, and some idiot Original Gangster Blogger/journalist or just some piece of over-privileged online sock puppet trash will 'do their thang' and be who they are

but I am going to say this slowly, you all are damaging a movement that has already teetered over the tipping point, quit being the mirror image of ignorant, bigotted assholes, you don't need that element in order to do your comedy bits

you all will end up making what was slated to be an easy task, a very damaging and hard one.

Again I must re-iterate that I fully understand, or at least can empathsize as LGBT people to this day still have their full rights illegally withheld, but failure to recognize at least some area of off limits, some area of mutual respect, such as not bringing lawsuits upon INDUSTRY of marriage. Because not admitting that it is a business and by showing them the respect of not invading their business of marriage and marriage accessories,

IE not suing for refusing services in their last phase of denial, specificall wedding cakes, wedding photography, wedding ceremonies and accessories

And I don't know what to tell you, and I am not saying you should back off trying to prevent this laws written that are in fact the equivalent to govt sponsored bigotry and wrongful discrimination

Because my whole God damned country is forcing itself into no-win situation, because both sides justify their own righteousness, and it inevitably escalates

again, for the stupid fucking bloggers, I am not saying let these laws pass

It was my view that lawsuits against businesses that provide wedding services are poorly timed and will make the equal rights movement harder than it needs to be, as well as sabotaging the next people to finally have there guaranteed rights from over 250 years ago, finally become active.
