Not to mention all the great SCTV work. RIP Mr. Ramos.

Don't forget Stripes. God speed you magnificent bastard!

@1 Who the hell is Harold Ramos?
4
@3: good point. I wish there was an edit button on Slog.

Ah, Moe Green...so ahead of his time.

We'll miss you, Harold.
6
Tragic. I loved his character in Ghostbusters and became such a big fan as I realized how much writing he'd done.
7
See you on the other side, Egon.

Always wondered if Moe Green was inspired by the Godfather character of the same name.

9
He was a good actor. He was a GREAT writer. RIP, sweet man. Gone too soon.

He said that Bill Murray's character in Groundhog Day was trapped for perhaps 10,000 years, since it takes at least 10 years to become really good at anything.

We've lost a great writer.

I enjoyed sneaking into the theater to see the R rated "Stripes" as a 14 year old. Any movie with Boobies is good writing!
12
He was a brilliant writer and comedian, as well as a zen mensch, if there is such a thing. We will miss him.
13
What a shame. That man was pure genius.

"We gotta take these bastards. Now, we could fight 'em with conventional weapons. That could take years and cost millions of lives. Oh no. No, in this case, I think we have to go all out. I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part."

Otter in Animal House

A really futile and stupid gesture - that's what really made Ramis so great - he saw the special in the useless.

Stripes—"Are you homosexuals?"

Please wait...
