Now you see that we do live in East Germany
2
That's some rule, rule 6(e)6.

Obviously I agree with The Stranger's side in this matter. The government should always be required to make a compelling case for why documents need to be shielded from the public eye rather than the opposite.

The right to an open trial is a crucial protection for the defendant. It is unconscionable that that protection is not afforded to those who are compelled to appear before a grand jury.

Please do not look directly at rule 6(e)6. It falls under rule 6(e)6.
5
Thanks for fighting the good fight, Stranger!
6
Yes, thank you The Stranger. How can automatic sealing of one's trial - its very existence - be constitutional?

Holy fucking Kafka in a handbasket....

What the fuck? This is the legal system of the country I live in?

I was watching "Absence of Malice" the other day, and the US Attorney in that is an unmitigated weasel. This Rule 6(e)6, however, makes him look like a saint by comparison. The interpretation being presented to the 9th Circuit is some evil shit in a supposedly free society.

The courthouse here is not the Ninth District Courthouse -- that's in San Francisco. Our federal courthouse is the seat of the United States District Court, Western District of Washington. Those courts are entirely separate.

Washington culprits
now interested in coal/oil/gas
worldwide sales terminals to build
rails to roll long tankers all day and night.
Pipelines to sell fracked oil/gas to higher bidder
The country called, they listened to their wallets.
Oh yeah, Bertha? Bertha is insanity and certain
building loss, more sea water inland, more fresh water
siltration collected around a BORE SUMP.
A Large, unrepairable bore sump and softer soils.
Aim at the Box Cut-Cover/Seawall finish tunnel at Pike.

Who SHOULD serve jail time for the BORE error?
Who screwed up the CRC? Odot work is all fine.
Wsdot and other dot & transit planning fellows.
Just write down the 6-POINT PLAN and kick ass.
Seattlurs, meh.

@8--The Ninth Circuit has offices, chambers, and a courtroom here in Seattle, as well as resident judges. It has such satellite operations in Los Angeles, Honolulu, Phoenix, and a couple other cities.

Thank you The Stranger, and thank you Brendan. This feels like an important story, and I applaud this effort.

Please wait...
