Seems like you're reporting that Bailey and Murray made Sanford give his notice of retirement. Is that right?

The Stranger is becoming kind of a sick joke. You've bitched and moaned for years about the shitty SPD, but now, apparently, the Mayor shouldn't make any changes because you want steady leadership. Don't you think you should have thought of that before you drooled all over yourselves shilling for the former mayor that couldn't get anything about SPD right?

Speaking as a committed advocate for reform at SPD, I'm sorry to see Sanford go. From what I could tell, he was one of the good guys, and it puzzles me to wonder why he's leaving.

@3: Agreed. And now, worse, Kessler is Assistant Chief.

No, this is actually what Sanford was all about:

and watch him getting knocked on his ass at 2:00

@5: Marlow, I suggest reading up on Sanford's and Kessler's respective attitudes toward policing demonstrations. Neither is ideal, but Kessler is old-guard for sure. Sanford attempted a more civil approach, received no support, then was actively sabotaged on the street by subordinates in 2012.

I have more I received in-person that I've yet to get back into MuckRock's site, but you can find some of this stuff in the results of my PRA request for May Day 2012 Incident Commander's Review and records referenced therein.

Please wait...
