pure j.edgar.hoover enemies list at the NSA: "While whether we spy on Congress or not remains a question, Senator Sanders, it should be understood that fans of 'furry porn' can suddenly become a public matter..." and in the end the department existed only to protect itself.
2
"We're not spying on Congress any more than any other citizen." Yeah, right. I don't think that was the answer they wanted to hear.
3
Of course they spy on members of congress and yes the right sum of bit coins will buy you access to their email or phone conversations.

Not just that, but in today's Sunday Paper (yes, I read real newspapers on Sunday) there's a rebuttal from Michael Morrel, former head of the CIA and co-author of the Presidential Review Group on Intelligence and Communications Technologies report.

He fires back at media claims that the report seeks to reign in the NSA. His editorial is titled "That's not what we said" and he essentially disputes the conclusions that the media has inferred from the report. One such conclusion the media reported is that the study calls for "sweeping reforms that roll back" parts of the program.

Morrel claims that the NSA's work is important, and should even be expanded (his personal opinion). He uses the bullshit justification that "it might have prevented 9/11 if it was in place in 2001".

Go read his editorial yourself. Here's a link:

It's depressing how often utopian idealists are succeeded by dystopian dictators.
6
Obama is actively fighting in the courts to maintain corrupt NSA practices.

Congratulations, HomoLiberals;

Most. Oppressive. Administration. EVER.

That beef story.. Why do these matters not come up when congress is debating what budget items to cut? It's such a large pile of tax-payer's cash handed over to a lobbying association that's not even particularly helpful to the 'little guy' ranchers.

"a contract that wipes out benefits they achieved through years of strikes and activism...."

therein lies the problem, asswipe.

if those benefits had been earned thru better productivity they wouldn't be on the chopping block.

Unions inevitably extort unsustainable extravagant benefits from productive industries and suck them dry and destroy them.

steel. auto. newspaper.

next up, public "service"

unions are parasites that destroy every industry they infect.
12
@8 really? Boeing has record profits and the Washington units are so productive they are picking up the slack for the non productive non union units in the south. You want the enemy of productivity and actual growth? Look to the con game that is the stock market

The great Eusebio, the greatest African player, and possibly the greatest player, soccer has ever seen, has died.

@4, with regard to 9/11, he's got a point. If the NSA had had the powers then that they do now, they might have been able to detect the presence of the CIA report entitled "BIN LADIN DETERMINED TO STRIKE IN US" that was sitting on Bush's desk.

@ Sgt Doom: Like I care what you say, you goddamn tinfoil hat freak.
19
@10: Fun fact: a nice little search found absolutely no evidence of that. Cite your source or we'll assume it's your sigmoid colon.
Fun fact 2: in order to have unemployment benefits extended, you need to demonstrate that you are actively searching for jobs.
Fun fact 3: you are an idiot.

Please wait...
