What will it take for the hardcore Wingnuts to give up their fantasy that free, unregulated markets are superior?
2
If there is a country that has committed unspeakable atrocities in the world, it is the United States of America.

-Nelson Mandela, 2003

The link for the Myanmar story is the same as for the LA Times detention center story.

@ 3. Thanks. Fixed.
5
@2 I bet Nelson Mandela ate murdered animals whose days ended in death camps, though. And I bet he enjoyed it.

That's it?! Slog has nothing more to say about Boeing's extortion/hypocrisy/socialism? Where's the snark when it's needed??
7
I think Boeing's own words speak for themselves. In legal terms I believe what they are doing is extortion but then again, I'm not a lawyer.

It's a mystery to me why Slog journalists keep reporting decreases in unemployment rate when the employment rate doesn't change, and hasn't significantly changed since the bottom of the "recession": http://data.bls.gov/timeseries/LNS123000…

What also should have been in the stranger news is an accident this morning on 99N that happened a little after 6am that massively tied up traffic not just on 99N but traffic getting out of West Seattle. And a tow truck couldn't get to the scene until around 8:40am or so---unacceptable in a so-called major city.

It makes a lot of sense for the government to just nationalize an industry if the only way private companies will do the work involves massive government subsidies.
12

Nelson Mandela was a heterosexual alpha male who married a girl 18 years younger than himself.

So why is SLOG in tears?!
13
12, what on earth is the matter with you?
14
@11 - even the airlines that buy their products are heavily subsidized.
15
John Bailo is the dumbest motherfucker on the planet.
16
@15: I'm starting to believe it.
17
@15 - So, so true.

Please wait...
