And when I call her a head-case I'm just using that slang for emphasis.
2
This is only news because she's back-pedaling. She should've just admitted she thinks he's Hitler and she'd get a plum ambassadorship in the 2036 Rubio administration.
3
Sort of like when Joe Biden, at an October 2010 fundraiser in Minnesota, said, “If I hear one more Republican tell me about balancing the budget, I am going to strangle them” which he claimed was “a figure of speech”?
4
@1:

I'm going to call her a verrückte schlampe, you know, just for emphasis.
5
Still not as good as the lady in the news yesterday who claimed Obama was Osama Bin Laden. I mean, not as bad as, but actually the same person.
6
@3
Not even close. You're not even trying anymore!
7
John Boehner is Der Commissar.

AZ and UT legislatures duke it out over who has the biggest fools. Right now, advantage AZ, though just wait for Mike Lee to open his hypocritical mouth and spew his bullshit and it'll be even once more.
Payson/Prescott areas have become havens for the haters and racists trying to escape the brown-skinned folks inhabiting more of the central and southern districts.
9
@8: sorry, Oklahoma still has the highest number of elected fools per capita. In this sense, at least, the Sooner State is a representative democracy.
10
Offensichtlich she wasn't referring to Hitler. Saying things in German is the hip new way to emphasize.
11
well, no one who speaks German can be bad
12
Sorry, @9 - I think Utah wins with the representative democracy of fools. Though in Utah, democracy is what the sheepies are told their LDS oligarchy is...and they believe it. What's even better is when the churchislators tell them who to vote for as they engage in their pseudo-democratic process of voting. No thought needed whatsoever, just blind obedience.
13
@10: nice. Maybe it's one of those words that has no direct corollary in English? It's conceptual really - it means 'Hitler but not Hitler. And black.'
14
@11 :)
15
@8: Since confirmed mad-woman Jan Brewer has discovered that Obamacare actually helps her state, I think there's an odd off-set there.
16
@15 I'll take that tiny win. Just like I take it as a tiny win that Ohio Governor Kasich (Republican) desperately wants to enact ACA's Medicaid expansion despite the Ohio Republican opposition.

Of course Kasich has failed so far to do so. Term limits ruined Ohio's legislature.
17
It's almost getting hard to tell what republicans are repressing more: Their sexual desires or their racism.

Sounds like an idea for a SLOG poll.
18
@3: The difference was that Joe Biden was actually using a figure of speech while the woman was (contrary to her statement) actually referencing Hitler.

Your username remains apt.
19
@11

Simpsons did it!
20
I'm filing this alongside the Republican organizers who sent out a picture of the White House lawn covered in watermelon vines and then claimed that it was just a non-racist joke.
21
@18
"I'm going to strangle them" is not a "figure of speech". It's a leteral statement, a threat in fact. He was actually referencing violence, possibly murder.
22
@21: Not only do you not know how to spell "literal," you also do not seem to know what it actually means.

Isn't it funny how tough talkin' conservatives are until someone gives them a dose of strong language themselves, then they become whiny little babies. I guess it comes with the territory of a constant desire to be a victim and pretend to be a persecuted class.
23
@ 21, your transformation from credible conservative foil to credulous partisan troll is complete. It's too bad seeing what losing does to an intelligent but immature con. (Then again, every day brings more proof that immaturity is almost required in order to find conservative views to have merit.)
24
@21: Are you on the Autistic spectrum and unable to "read" a person's affect? Because otherwise you're just at some point on the spectrum between stupid and insincere.
25
@ 24, he falls pretty far on the "insincere" side of that spectrum.
26
@3 too bad he didn't. Republicans are the best argument against intelligent design.
27
So you all believe that she actually thinks he IS Adolf Hitler, the German dictator himself, alive and well (after all these years)? That it was not intended as a figure of speech?

I mean, yeah… She sounds stupid and hyperbolic, but most politicians do at some point or another. Case in point, Crazy Uncle Joe.

Unless, of course, you are insisting that she really believes Obama IS a German dictator.

It must have either been intended as an observation of a fact or a figure of speech.

Definition of FIGURE OF SPEECH: a form of expression (as a simile or metaphor) used to convey meaning or heighten effect often by comparing or identifying one thing with another that has a meaning or connotation familiar to the reader or listener. (Merriam-Webster)
28
@27: You are so mind numbingly dumb it is almost unbelievable. How are you an adult who still has not figured out how to understand what people say and what it means?

Children have this ability, why don't you?

29
@27: She called him Adolf Hitler. Man, 28 is right. You really haven't passed that toddler-lie stage of life, no matter how old you are.

Please wait...
