This being The Stranger, I knew the headline was a literal article about snake sex. And my brain had a hard time catching up....there were about 10 seconds of mental whiplash.

What did NBC expect? Advertising revenue from gun manufacturers, and to continue doing heartfelt documentaries about the victims of future tragedies finding strength in their love of God.

Maybe the NRA likes losing support. Feeds some kind of need to feel persecuted. I guess when you feel persecuted, you go buy another gun. And that makes it all better. For a while...

@6 I believe it was Chris Hayes who built a strong case that, as a front for gun manufacturers, anything the NRA does that leaves us talking about them and not their backers, their products and reasonable curbs on either, is the NRA doing it's job correctly.
