I looked into it a while ago, and then rage quit when the stupid website didn't allow right clicking.

Wolves rule, and so does this.
3
We should save them by domesticating them! Oh wait..we did that already.

Yes to wolves!! Lucky me, I got to spend the day with some "domesticated" wolves back in August. Actual snuggles!! Wolf Haven is a great place. Go to a howl-in sometime :)

I did the overnight camping with my son several years ago. It was a lot of fun, though the "campground" was more like a field in the park.

He was a bit old for some of the activities (14 then) but he went along with the dances and stuff along with the 6 and 8 year olds. Among the coolest things was the Wolf Graveyard that we took a few walks through...but the very coolest thing was being there after dark...when the wolves started howling at the Moon!

Incredibly wild because they were in the compound just beyond the fence. You felt you were there with the wolves! That is something that has always stayed with me...

When you said "adopt" I thought, "Like a dog? In your house? And this is a good idea? Don't forget to feed it." Then I clicked on the link and saw that it's more "adopt" as in Feed the Children, not the dog pound.

"Look, honey! I brought a wolf!"

I've been several times, as I grew up just north of Wolf Haven. It's fantastic. Wolves are death machines in general, but these wolves are awesome. They know they've been saved by weak humans and they respect that, and seeing it in action is amazing. Also: Northwest Trek!

I'm good with dogs have had dogs in my world my entire life. That said, I have friends who have had half-wolves and in one case a wolf, as a pet. Yeah the Wolf/dog pet walking into the room is way different then just the Big dog walking into the room.

All for Wolves but they are not pets.

the wolves i hung out with are essentially pets - this woman used to have a wolf sanctuary on her property but closed it down after the last one passed on. then a few years later she got a call about some rescues down in arizona - poor things had never been outside a cage and they were two years old. she was begged to take them and gave in. they have completely torn her house apart and she can't have any other pets (well she does have horses but they don't mingle) - but they are super gentle with people. they're seven years old now.

it was a little terrifying walking in to them - i mean come on! (and i was also carrying the scents of about five other dogs on me). but they were very friendly and affectionate. when i'd heard that they were tame, i assumed that only meant that they wouldn't attack - i never expected them to be anything more than neutral/standoffish. what a pleasant surprise to get to put my arms around them and let them lick my face!!! i still can't even believe it happened.

they were SO strong. we leashed them up to walk them down to this waterfall she has on her property to take some photos. that was when i was reminded that i was not in the presence of ordinary dogs. so majestic and powerful, yet so gentle. so much trust. it was amazing.

I had a gray wolf/husky mix. He was the sweetest dog ever.

Do they also have a shooting range?

#14, I might have been that wolf.
