All in all it's just another brick in the wall.
2
Well! I'm off to burn all my Pink Floyd albums!
3
His words suggest that for him the hero of The Great Gatsby is Tom Buchanan.
4
Best response to this I've seen. Thanks for making me laugh this morning.
5
Hey, he is just seriously into heterosexual guys. Seriously into them.

Nothing wrong with that, right?
6
@5

No, of course not.
7
Best response I have seen is by Mallory Ortberg at The Toast: http://the-toast.net/2013/09/25/david-gi…
Scathing and funny. Scunny?

@6,7 Only until he puts on a red T-shirt.

He has the same world "view" as most of the heterosexual white guys I grew up with. Fortunately, most younger men are changing that. They have a curiosity for what others think and how women see the world. I think it's because they now need allies whereas before they just ruled.

MOST brains aren't made of bone. Gilmour's might be the exception.

@2 Bwah ha!
11
I was once at a reading of his where he called a woman in the audience an idiot for asking a question he didn't like.
12
It wouldn't be the internet without everyone taking the chance opportunity to make Pink Floyd references.
13
The Stranger is going to get pissed at other writers for their "inability to be interested in anything other than your own experience?" Now that's rich.
14
Oh Cody. The Stranger writes about the lived experience of all sorts of different races creeds and classes. Even cranky straight men such as yourself.
15
@5,

I don't know. Is he responsible for the Savage Love letter from yesterday?
16
Funny thing is, he could have quietly kept teaching his heterosexual guys by simply saying nothing about it, or giving lip-service to the need for more diversity in literature. I suppose I should admire him for refusing to be a hypocrite like so many others who teach literature.

Please wait...

and remember to be decent to everyone
all of the time.
