I'm sure all of us (the avg Slogger age is 45 right?) remember the first wonder n=n woman on tv, and it sucked then, it'll suck again

So in the ultimate barf-free Seattle liberal world, how would a hungry homeless person living in a city-supervised homeless camp scrape enough enough quarters together to buy a $10 Egg-McMuffin?

Don't forget to show up early for the Sounders, as they are having a special presentation before the game, which is probably to announce the signing of Clint Dempsey, the greatest living American soccer player, in what is surely the biggest signing of an athlete in Seattle after Ichiro. This is big news, folks, make no mistake about it.
4
Shuznits, I thought this was Morning News. Ne'er mind.
5
I am not a sports fan but it iss seriously cute to see Fnarf filled with glee regarding that soccer player. Really! Go Fnarf!

I have nothing against Kshama Sawant, but your assessment about Conlin ignores the fact that he has championed density and transit in the city. He is one of the few (along with the mayor and O'Brien) that supports Apodments and deregulation (e. g. no required parking) for new buildings. The end result will be more housing, which (all things being equal) will result in cheaper housing. So much of the council seems to want to preserve Seattle in amber (to quote another commenter) but Conlin seems to understand that doing so hurts renters.

He has also been solid, especially of late, on issues of transit. To quote his newsletter: ... I am particularly interested in whether we will have a station at 130th St, between the planned stations at Northgate and 145th. While there is not much current development around 130th and I-5, this station would be very convenient for Lake City and Bitter Lake residents, and I have asked DPD to evaluate the potential for zoning changes that would create additional TOD opportunities.

In other words, if you rent a place in Lake City or Bitter Lake, he is thinking of you and your commute. He understands these issues well, as I have yet to here anyone else on the council say things like this (they all say they support transit, but the devil is in the details).

This is why Conlin was supported by the Seattle Transit Blog.

@5: Yes indeed, it is most heartwarming to see Knarf gleeful.

@7 a few clouds are in the way from my vantage point, but I believe i too can visualiza some glee von Fnake

Are you drunk-posting? I've done that before, so I won't complain. But maybe it is time to take a nap and try again when you don't mix up concepts.
10
@9: I didn't mix them up, I paired them intentionally. I'm sorry my snarkiness went over your head. I'll aim to be more considerate in the future.
11

I can't find one single weather website where the current readings and predictions map to what I see outside my window.
12
@11

To be fair, most weather stations don't have sensors to measure the accumulation of broken appliances, used tires, cinder blocks, and scrap wood.
13
@12, it's because the only thing he can see is the aluminum foil he's covered his windows with. Then forgot he did.
14
@10: I guess you missed my snark too. I didn't want to call you stupid in so many words, so I left you a reasonable means to back out of looking like an idiot or an asshole.
15
@8 soon we'll be entering our second week of your pissy little "breakup" from Slog. Remember promising that to us just shy of a couple weeks ago? Really not going so well for you. Slog is a terrible drug, innit?
16
I think it's neato you're keeping track; could you bring up the pertinent 'breakup' comment I made two weeks ago? If you can, I'll be true to my word, and we can end our little skiffle.
17
In a liberal utopia the the itinerant citizens happily consume kale from the community gardens.

@12: OWNED

@16

Wasn't sure what @15 was talking about, but it was easy enough to find:

July 24, you posted:

man, I've been called out twice in two days. i'm going to take a break for a while. Enjoy conversing with the other Sloggers who think highly of you.

@19
Much obliged, and that break lasted nearly 24 hours. What's the huff? I suggest you put that into your Marxist pipe and smoke it. Get high, get blackout drunk, take some acid, live a little you wanks.
21
@19 Thanks!

Pithy joke, which makes reference to humor from a show that is now off the air for 2 decades. Ah well, Seattle.

#13

Gee, you used 2 sentences instead of 10 this time. Of course, you were only repeating #12's joke. Monkey see...

Oh yeah.

Forgot about you.

Going with 2007 this time. You usually scour gaming fora to come up with something "the kids" are using from say two years ago.

You'll have to try harder.

And for my next trick:

There isn't a Wonder Woman TV series because Wonder Woman is a terrible superhero.

Wonder Woman was basically PG-rated bondage porn for people living in the 1940's. She's so strong unless she gets tied up then she's so very helpless? Come on!

She doesn't translate to modern times at all (unless we are talking about porn. We aren't talking about a porn series, are we?).
26
Whether it's a good idea or not, it's ridiculous to claim that Wonder Woman has been ignored by Hollywood developers. Since 1990, there have been at least 9 different scripts commissioned or purchased by Warner Brothers, there have been at least 3 different directors firmly attached to WW film projects (including Joss Whedon).

There have also been two notable attempts at a live-action WW television show: once in 1997 by the creator of Lois & Clark, and again last year with David E. Kelley at the helm. The pilot that Kelley produced ranks very high on the list of "most painful things I've ever watched."

There's plenty of evidence that the various projects have been dicked over for no good reason, but let's not pretend like remaking Wonder Woman is a brand-new idea.

Also, as an aside? The first season of the Lynda Carter show was the only part that wasn't garbage. The executives repeatedly dicked over THAT show as well, and it managed to have four different central concepts in just three seasons.

Why isn't there a Wonder Woman movie or TV show coming up? We don't have an actress that can do what Linda Carter did both in style, substance and class.
28

The fascinating thing is looking at Linda Carter, a woman with a body style like that could look really good back in the 1970s. But in the post corn-syrup era, she'd be like 350 pounds and living in Cincinnati. That's what it did to our society.
