Reeling from that Nate Silver bit.

Silver will be back to prognosticate on 2016 (which likely starts early next year) (can't unfortunately say the same for Olbermann)

Nate Silver's passion has always been for sports. His success in political poll analysis comes about by applying the rigor which sports fanatics employ to election coverage. A sad testament to how lame our election coverage traditionally has been in this country.

Sounds like it's the NYT's sports page that lost the day for Silver. They're pretty good for a traditional page, but they've never had any truck with Silver's kind of numerical focus (to their eternal shame, Silver's way is better). But I don't think this is about ESPN; I think it's about ABC and television. Silver wants to be in people's living rooms, and not just on sports.

I can't wait for the first time Silver gets up and walks out on Olberman's bullshit.

Slog needs an equivalent to the Guardian's "Republican?" button, which removes all royal (and royal baby) coverage with a click. They'd have to call it something else (I suggest "feed it to the corgis").

@4, I would pay a HUGE amount of money to see Dan Savage and Nate Silver doing teevee election coverage together. What a dynamic duo they'd be. (Especially since Terry's Mr. Turk contract has got Dan to start wearing fabulous shirts onscreen.)

I wonder if people in the UK are as sick of hearing about the royal baby as I am. I wonder if the royal family is.

Yeah, I know some people dig it or else why would the bottom feeding press be camping out outside the hospital foaming at the mouth at a chance to get a picture of the afterbirth.

Someone recommended Social Fixer as a way I could filter out articles from my feeds that have the words "royal baby" and Middleton in them.

For your information
We're two of a kind.

Two of a kind,
It's my observation
We're two of a kind.

Just like peas in a pod,

And birds of a feather

Alone or together, you'll find
That we are two-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo
Of a kind.

It was bad the first time you sang it.
