The suspect was driving a stolen truck that had in the back a stolen rifle with a scope, stolen shotgun, body armor and multiple Molotov cocktails, said UW Police Chief John Vinson.
However did anyone manage to let these items get stolen from them?
It doesn't make sense. UW is like a ghost town during the summer. There are a hundred places in Seattle that have a higher population density in the summer than the UW campus.
to add: its logical that people after the last years assume that the UW was the intended target but maybe the guy was just laying low there planing to go (or coming from) somewhere else...
@4 I suspect that most of the criminal incidents in the U-district are not perpetrated by the UW students (although sometimes they are victims). So the fact that it is summer just exposes the seamy U-district underbelly that is there year round but sometimes masked by the large number of students.
@2: he wasn't stabbed on 45th. He was stabbed outside J's Market (and jack in the box parking lot area). The spot where the sketchiness happens. If you don't hang out with those folks then you shouldn't be scared.
But maybe you're talking about a different stabbing?
@2 The deceased's bereaved mother posted a video memorial on YouTube. I'm gonna violate Terms of Service article "(D) include any information about an individual other than yourself in a listing" and suggest you search on YouTube for "Joseph D Albert" for a video created and uploaded by Coletha Albert. You can learn more about the deceased from this touching tribute.
