On a drive from Illinois to Virginia many years ago I was in a restaurant near Louisville (or some big city; pretty sure Louisville). I was reading the newspaper where it said that the city had a low crime rate. That surprised me a little bit, and when I was chatting with the waitress about the beautiful countryside (really) I mentioned what I had read about local crime. She bent over and whispered in a conspiratorial way (one white woman to another, you know), "that's 'cause we know how to keep our niggers in line." I was too freaked to say anything, but my mind went to the several chain gangs comprised only of black men that I had passed on the local roads.

Pretty state. But some Ugly UGLY people inhabit it.
I wish we could do something unpleasant to this woman.
