Could you link to the film when you get a chance?
I'd like to see it.

I watched the NYT version on YouTube - lots of great stuff in there unfamiliar to me. Plus, the Winchester House is fascinating - I enjoyed the tour and recommend it.

I used to live close to the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose. It's definitely an interesting place to visit, and would also recommend it.

An armed populace apparently does not really correlate with preserving democracy, apparently either.

Took me about 20 seconds of confusion to place Matt from the NWFF's voice. Very strange to hear that streaming on the NY Times' website!

Yea if some least coast nanny state publication says so it must be true.

I guess the the heavily armed nations of the United States and Switzerland being the gold standard for democratic elections is just a fluke.

@6: As always, facts tend to have a liberal bias.

The United States is not, in fact, considered to be anywhere near a gold standard for fair and uncorrupted electoral processes.

Meanwhile, as the article details (and you clearly didn't read), there are essentially unarmed countries with transparent government and personal liberties your tiny head couldn't possibly fathom, and countries with heavily-armed populaces where repression abounds.

Nothing you or your gun-rack friends have ever done has contributed one iota to "keeping the Big Bad Tyranny" at bay. Though I imagine that if this were 50 years ago, you'd probably be using your guns to intimidate a certain portion of the population and keep them from voting.
