On behalf of my people, I apologize for this closeted DADT-dodging & still closeted post-DADT sack of shit. Remember, 30-some percent of us South Carolinians are just like y'all (although we make less ironic use of 'y'all') and spend a fair amount of our time and money trying to get the best, most liberal candidates elected that we can. It's the best we can do.

@6: Actually, atypical as it is, this is not a partisan attack from our beloved Paul Constant. Think about it.
Dzhokhar Tsarnaev is evil, but has been a U.S. citizen for a year and could/should never be classified as an enemy combatant and not have the right to our legal system.
I'm quite confident that what I just said would have the nod from every true conservative and libertarian.
Graham is notorious for not thinking things through before he speaks. He'll probably recant it.

@11- When has butters ever walked back a constitution shredding comment? I don't think ever. Also Graham/Obama were proponents of the NDAA which does allow for " the detention of a US national on US soil as an enemy combatant under the law of armed conflict."

@12- During the debate Lindsay Graham also cited the shockingly mismanaged Jose Padilla case as presenting further legal precedent for holding US citizens:

“The statement of authority to detain, does apply to American citizens and it designates the world as the battlefield, including the homeland.”

And yet, of course, it was Obama's DOJ which diluted Miranda rights for domestic terror suspects, creating “new rules [which] allow investigators to hold domestic-terror suspects longer than others without giving them a Miranda warning, significantly expanding exceptions to the instructions that have governed the handling of criminal suspects for more than four decades” (http://www.salon.com/2011/03/24/miranda_…).

Surely everyone here, and Paul especially, is aware of the fact that when it comes to the "global battlefield" and "due process" for terror suspects, Obama has clearly and objectively demonstrated that he agrees with Lindsay Graham 100%.

...the Obama administration has already rolled back Miranda rights for terrorism suspects captured on US soil. It did so two years ago with almost no controversy or even notice, including from many of those who so vocally condemned Graham's Miranda tweets yesterday.

@26 asks an essential question at the end of his post. To refuse to answer it, to ignore the facts (in a way no different than the way conservatives ignore facts about global warming and countless other issues), is to illustrate a profound hypocrisy.
