If only he (?) had been armed and properly trained...

I know. Too soon. Maybe to save effort we can just get that phrase automatically appended to every 2nd amendment solution article.

Could this be connected with the marathon bombing? Or inspired by it?

Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck. The CP's were usually pretty good to us students, especially considering how hard we made their lives. This is terrible news.

BPD scanner just said second suspect is NOT in custody.

What. The. Fuck. This week can be over now please.

I listened to all of this on the BPD police scanner. Scanner traffic indicated gunplay, explosions, at least two perps, and at least one additional officer down & transported to the hospital. Supposedly at least one suspect is in custody.

Unclear if these were the bombing suspects, but whoever they were, they had to be pretty desperate to be out jacking cars at gunpoint while the city was on high alert.

Twitter is totally owning the cable news channels tonight. All the decent information is coming in via random people on the scene... I hope when the dust settles, by morning we'll know what's going on and have arrested whomever was behind this second attack and/or the first. They've gotta be connected.

It's being reported that Homeland Security and the FBI are on the scene, so there might be something to a connection. I would imagine that MIT students might be pretty proficient at building explosive devices.

Twitter might be "owning" the cable news channels, but only in volume of unconfirmed gossip.

Mind you, after yesterday's massive "dark skinned man in custody" Fail, CNN's reputation isn't much better.

As titillating as this all sounds, I'll wait for more information from a halfway reliable source, even if that takes an extra half hour.

#Watertown tag is also very active right now, for those interested in following.
