From Douthat's NYT column column today, "Marriage Looks Different Now":
There are plenty of interesting arguments, often from gay writers, about how the march to gay marriage might be influencing heterosexual norms — from Alex Ross’s recent musings in The New Yorker on the sudden “queer vibe” in straight pop culture to Dan Savage’s famous argument that straights might do well to imitate the “monogamish” norms of some gay male couples. It’s only the claim that this influence might not always be positive that is dismissed as bigotry and unreason.

And by Kenyatta being "widely accused of rigging the election" you meant to say "accused by his opponent." Don't write about things of which you know nothing.

Blessings to everyone on this most glorious and Holy day!

Female pedosexuals and rape artists continue their infamy...

@5: Not a pedophile, an ephebophile. Dumbass.
10
Why don't they just accuse Kenyatta of being born in the U.S.?
11
*Dominic* is pissed at how humble and nice it makes the Pope look.

FTFY.

#9 - "statutory rapist" works, too.

Three people shot dead, one critically injured outside of an Auburn sports bar early this morning.

@9 - wouldn't pedophile be a superset of ephebophile?

To borrow Cole Escola's Easter message:
No matter who you are
or what you've been through
Always remember
Mel Gibson hates you.

A Texas DA who had armed himself after one of his ADAs was murdered was found dead with his wife at home. It sounds like he took the necessary precautions, and there are no signs reported that he was careless with his gun. I guess he made himself feel safer, but they still got him.

@15. I FREAKING LOVE Cole Escola!!!!

4, Indeed! Let's all celebrate the gods of western culture who were fathered by a god, born of a virgin, performed miracles, were killed and then came back to life after three days:
Attis, Adonis, Tammuz, Dammuzi, Dionysos, Marduk, Amun.... I'm probably forgetting a few Celtic ones in there.

(Of course, we don't talk about those, because their followers weren't fanatics like the Christians: who were far more willing to kill & destroy in the name of their god than anyone in the world had ever seen previously. Until Islam, that is, a few centuries later.)

So Praise Be To Attis! He Lives & Evil Is Conquered Once More!

The traditional Catholics were pissed at the fact that the Pope washed FEMALE feet. Since Jesus had only male disciples and the Pope is supposed to be Jesus here. It didn't matter what religion the feet were.

Hard to express how crazy all that is.
20
@19 Meanwhile, I wouldn't be surprised if there are Wahhabists who want to have the girl stoned to death for allowing an unrelated male to touch her bare feet.
21
Those traditionalists tender widdle feelings were hurt because the pope did something sweet and touching which carried the unmistakable implication that women are human beings.

I like him better already.
22
@..blessings to you pheebs...
23
@20 - I'm sure that since she was already in a juvenile detention center, there must be some other good reason to stone her to death.
24
Today I remember Hypatia, who was a woman of great learning and virtue, was murdered in 415 A.D. by Christians who flayed off her skin and murdered her. One of the many great martyrs to freedom and knowledge that Christians have murdered.
25
@20
There was a movie a couple of years ago dramatizing her plight. Spanish film, but made in English and starring Rachel what's-her-name--the Mummy actress.
26
@15,

You are hilarious!

Tomorrow gay marriages and gay adoptions will be the law of the land in France. Probably around midnite today our time.

Please wait...
