@1, that might be true, but it doesn't explain the last thirty years. Woodward has been a tool for a long, long time. If that was dementia, he'd be long dead by now.

Here's the real story. This is the first and only time in the last 4 years, that an Insider has come out with statements against the administration! That never, ever happens. I'm not talking about "right wing bloggers" or guys making comments. I'm talking about a dyed-in-the-wool, honest to God, Hollywood/East Coast Liberal Establishmentarian saying some thing bad about Obama. SNL doesn't make jokes about him. No major city newspaper in a blue state disparages him. This is the first. And there's a first time for everything!

And yet, woodward was YOUR boy, until he dared to jump the shark by implying that Obama was just as big a cock face as dubya.
5
what's up with the umlaut in 'cooperate'?
6
This rings true, but Cassidy is a complete ass so I will take it with a grain of salt.

Paul, have you read all of Caro's books on LBJ? Caro is pretty much the opposite of Woodward, as far as I can tell.
7
@5, that is one of the most distinctive parts of the New Yorker style. http://www.newyorker.com/online/blogs/cu…

Is Woodward Robert Redford or Dustin Hoffman? This affects my opinion. I have a huge crush on Robert Redford.
10
What I found most amusing about his accusation that he had been threatened was the idea that anyone in the administration could feel threatened by something he wrote. I don't think anybody but Woodward believes he is framing the national debate. In order to be relevant at all he has to start slinging mud. The media will always cover that.
11
Another way to frame it is that Woodward does not parallel the preferred narrative.
12
@8 Redford = Woodward. Sorry...
13
@11: you must sympathize somewhat, since the facts haven't supported your preferred narrative for some time now.

P.S. welcome back!
14
@7: holy shit i learned something! the diaeresis! thanks.

It's not so symmetrical.
16
Poor Bob. Trying to stay relevant.

Woodward was somewhat of a hero when I was younger. The reporter that sunk Nixon (a simplification, but whatever). Unfortunately, he hasn't really done anything useful in decades. He shot his load with Watergate, and hasn't been relevant since. Now he just begins to look increasingly pathetic. Sad.
18
Carl Bernstein, apparently rather forgotten.

Bob Woodward, apparently a fame whore.

but perhaps not. IDC

This is much ado about nothing.
19
Is there anybody you won't throw under the bus? Oh wait, you have to treat even the most loyal of lackeys this way or the rush for the exits would be murderous. The fear of getting this treatment is keeping everybody else in line and parroting the Obama program.

Obama is a corrupt little wuss. His domestic policy is about lining the pockets of his cronies. His foreign policy is nonexistent, I mean really, Hilliary and Kerry, bitch please.

@19 *passes over a tissue* dilbert dear your drooling over nothing. Here have some tea you'll feel better.
21
Bob Woodward was also terrible on Celebrity Jeopardy.

Please wait...
