"The wisdom of everyman reviewers...infinately [sic] more useful..." No it is many times shit. I'm all for aggregation when it works but ask authors if they think the Amazon review system is working. Ask Jaron Lanier about it.
I enjoy the recipe and hotel/retail reviews. The recipes because many times the "review" is actually a reworking of the actual recipe, and the hotel/retail because someone is always complaining about how an employee is "rude" because they didn't give the answer the reviewer wanted to hear. Also, sometimes they inadvertently get hilariously graphic about stuff like housekeeping and food service.
Completely agree with @4. I love the complaints about service in Seattle. The people are obviously cheap, and were trying to scam. Every review on Yelp is either 1 star or 5 stars.
